FF Geek Says:

Because they sell more. Its much easier to blame the men then try to figure out how you could improve yourself.

i think all those books are so dumb. playing games is for kiddos, not mature, grown adults. maybe women are more “desperate” to find a man before she gets “too old” or something…

Indigo Says:

I dunno, how to you think many of us feel about those real titles for women that demean women and make us feel like we’re supposed to believe there are no men worth bothering with?

Personally, I wouldn’t want stereotypes, for either gender, nor books.

Baba Yaga Says:

The women who buy such books are gnerally looking for nice men who will treat them well and are not afraid of commitment. The men who buy such books are generally looking for notches on their bedposts. You can go to Amazon for this, you don’t have to go into Barnes and Noble.

I highly disagree that books for guys are for “nice, logical” men, or that they discourage game-playing. There’s more misogyny in those things than in this forum. I also think that the books saying you should be a “b!tch” are just trying to be cutting edge… because as far as I know, what they mean is that you should have your own life, don’t put him first before everything (in the dating stage), etc.

And “The Rules” is just ridiculous, and equally insulting to men and women.

Dating books are stupid altogether. If men want to get women or if women want to get men, just take a shower and go buy nicer clothes. Works like a charm. I should write my own dating book. ;)

This topic will be explored in greater detail in my upcoming book, “She’s Got Issues: The Feminization of the Self-Help Industry.”

TheDiva Says:

Well, for one, men don’t like to admit they are emotional and if a guy would write a book for you about that, you’d call him a…..what do you guys call it…..gay. It’s society. But if you look, you will find some books on that.
